Franchise #21
One of the most stable franchises in TCBA history, the Franchise #21 Norfolk Pilots were originally owned by Pilot Dan Warren until 1934. The franchise was transferred to JB Beeman, who moved the team to Newton for the next 8 seasons. In 1943, industrialist Don Hirsch used his big stash of war bucks to scoop up the franchise and locate somewhere on the east coast. As tensions in Korea began to swell, Hirsch found the need to focus on his war business, so he sold the franchise to Jersey Shore attorney Jim Lafargue. In 1955 Dan Warren retook control of the franchise until the conclusion of the 2011 season, when he retired from active TCBA play. The team moved its offices to Edinburgh, where it began a new life as the Scotsmen in TCBA12.
